CHECK ELIGIBILITYCOPD is a lung condition that makes breathing difficult. It happens when your lungs become damaged. Common signs include:
• Trouble catching your breath
• Daily, persistent coughing with mucus
• A whistling sound when breathing (wheezing)
If you have COPD, your doctor will typically prescribe medications. These may include medications that open your airways or steroid inhalers to reduce inflammation.

By comparing the investigational study drug to standard COPD treatments, we hope to learn if it works better, the same or not as well as current treatments. The investigational study drug blocks two proteins (IL-4 and IL-13) that can cause inflammation in your lungs when you have COPD. By blocking these proteins, the investigational study drug may help reduce lung inflammation and improve your breathing.
At your appointments, the following may be reviewed:

Checks your heart’s electrical activity using electrodes place on your skin.

A breathing test that measures the total amount of air you can breathe out from your lungs and how fast you can blow it out.

This test takes special pictures of your lungs. Three (3) scans will be completed during the study.

Measures a gas called nitric oxide in your breath. When your lungs are inflamed, they produce more of this gas.

This test will check how well your lungs are working while you breathe normally.

You will receive a wristband to wear and a small device for your bedside table that work together to track: coughing, breathing, sleep patterns, movement.
Additionally, you will need to install a simple app on your phone (or we can provide a phone with the app already installed). The app doesn't collect personal information - it only receives health data from the devices.

To help provide insight into how your COPD is affecting your quality of life.
