Hidradenitis suppurativa (sometimes called acne inversa) is a skin condition that causes small, painful bumps to form under your skin. These bumps typically appear in areas where skin touches skin, like your:
These bumps can take a long time to heal and often come back. Over time, they might create tunnels under your skin and leave scars. The condition usually starts after puberty and can continue for many years. Living with this condition can affect both your daily activities and how you feel emotionally.

The investigational medication is given as an injection under the skin, and its efficiency will be compared to placebo (a substance with no medicine) to see if it helps to reduce your symptoms and to identify any possible side effects. This medicine works by blocking certain substances in your body that cause inflammation related to HS (Hidradenitis Suppurativa).
The investigational medication is still being tested, so it's not available for general use yet. The investigational medication can only be used in research studies like these ones and therefore, the investigational medication is not approved for treating people with HS in an everyday clinical setting.
At your appointments, the following may be performed:

A physical exam, including checking your height, weight, and vital signs

About skin condition, quality of life (how you're feeling or daily activities) and medication usage and for female participants who menstruate, they will be asked to record their menstrual cycle
What is a placebo?
A placebo looks like the medicine being tested and is also given in the same way as the medication that is being studied, but it does not have any medicine in it.
Is there a cost to participate?
There is no cost to participate. All study-related exams, study-related medications, and study-related medical care are provided. There is no insurance required to take part in this study. You may be compensated for time and travel.
